NMSU student, and professor launch effort to support Afghan refugees in NM

NMSU student Hiba Muhyi and her mother, Professor Rajaa Shindi, launched the NMSU Afghan Refugee Response project, which began as a call for translators but grew into a broader effort to assist Afghan refugees in southern New Mexico. With over 100 volunteers, the project provides cultural mentorship, essential donations, and educational workshops to empower refugees, especially women and girls. Read more
