English as a Second Language (ESL)

With the help of our translator, ESL instructor, and  volunteers, we provide English language classes to help refugees communicate in their new communities and obtain new employment 

We offer GED classes to refugees who have not completed primary or secondary education. These classes prepare our students to take the GED exam. To obtain a high school equivalency certificate. 

ParaPro Assessment Prep 

The ParaPro Assessment class supplements the workshop provided by the Las Cruces Public Schools (LCPS). It prepares students for the ParaPro certification exam which is necessary to become an Educational Assistant (EA). 

Entrepreneurship 

Afghan culture emphasizes that a woman’s primary role is to take care of their children. Consequently, this has restricted women from having access to education and employment opportunities. Our entrepreneurship program aims to empower women to work by helping them to become independent and pursue their goals. 

Students learn to manage their finances and learn to budget to attain financial stability which will help them provide a better future for their children. Additionally, the curriculum includes computer use for them to become familiar with using programs like Word and Excel. 

The Children’s Enrichment Program 

The program provides basic childcare; social and emotional development. We are working to develop skills and knowledge in areas such as science, math, technology, arts, and sports.
